01About

A St. Patrick's Day classic for kids: a little shamrock-green cottage with a gold coin on a trapdoor in its white roof. Press the coin and the trapdoor tips into the house, then swings back shut on its own. Lift the roof to see who you caught.

A rainbow stands on two white clouds on the roof, a white ladder hooks over the rim for the visitor to climb, and a black pot of gold sits on the table beside the house. The trapdoor prints in place in the roof: there is no axle or pin to put in.

The house is 100 x 100 x 80 mm and the rainbow brings it to about 150 mm tall; allow about 205 x 110 mm of table space with the pot. Everything slides or hooks together with no glue and no screws.

No AMS needed: print each part in its color, and the roof's gold coin and the pot's gold coins come from one simple filament change, already set in the 3MF projects. The license lets you sell the traps you make.

  1. Open the 3MF in Bambu Studio

Open it as a project (File, then Open Project). The printer, plate and settings are already saved, so there's nothing to set up. Printing on another brand? Use the STL files with the settings below.

  2. Load your filament

    You need 5 colors:

    • HouseShamrock green
    • Roof, ladder, cloudsWhite
    • CoinsGold
    • PotBlack
    • RainbowRed, orange, yellow, green, blue
  3. Print

Print everything on the list below, then put it together.

Keep the scale at 100% and the supplied orientations. The roof and the pot each have one pause for a change to gold, saved in the 3MF projects (roof at 6.6 mm, pot at 25.8 mm); with the STLs, add them yourself. Keep the roof's 40 top and bottom layers so the trapdoor swings back shut.

Printing on another printer or slicer? See the settings

The 3MF projects have these settings saved for a Bambu Lab P2S. Using the STLs on another printer? These are the settings they were made with.

03What to print

10 parts. Print each part once:

Roof with the print-in-place trapdoor and bait coinLeprechaun-Trap-Roof1×White + gold

Pot of gold for the tableLeprechaun-Trap-Pot1×Black + gold
One band per colorLeprechaun-Trap-Rainbow (5 bands)5×Red, orange, yellow, green, blue

Each file comes as a 3MF project and as an STL: use one or the other, not both.

04Putting it together

  1. Let it cool

Let the prints cool fully, then peel the brims off the rainbow bands and remove any loose strings.

  2. Free the trapdoor

Gently rock the trapdoor in the roof until it swings freely. It stays in place on its own; never force a stuck one.

  3. Roof on, rainbow up

Set the roof on the house. Slide the five rainbow bands into both clouds, red outside to blue inside, and set the clouds on the two back pegs.

  4. Ladder and pot

Hook the ladder over the right-hand rim and stand the pot of gold on the table beside the left wall. Press the coin and the trapdoor tips, then swings back.

The full notes, including fit tips, are in START_HERE.txt inside the download. A supervised pretend-play decoration: small parts are a choking hazard, so keep it away from children under 3 and pets. Keep PLA away from heat.

05Selling your prints

Every download comes with a license that lets you sell the physical prints you make. The full terms are in LICENSE.txt inside the ZIP.

You can

  • Print it for yourself, family and friends, and as gifts

You can't

  • Share, upload, sell or give away the files, or remixes of them
  • Pass the files on with a print you sell
