Who we are
3MF Labs ("we", "us") is a sole proprietorship based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in the United States. We run 3mflabs.com, where we offer 3D print files. This policy covers this website and the emails we send.
What we collect
When you create an account
Your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and stored in a form nobody can read, including us. If you add them, we also keep your display name, username, profile picture, the printers you use, and whether you sell prints.
When you use your account
- Downloads: which model you downloaded and when, so your downloads stay in your account. Our log records a coded version of your account ID, not your name or email.
- Filament tracker: the spools, amounts and notes you enter.
- Purchases and the membership: what you bought, when, the amount, and your membership plan and status, so the designs you paid for stay in your account. Payment details stay with Stripe and Link.
- Filament label photos: when you snap a label, the photo is sent to Google's Gemini service to read the brand, color and other details. We use the result to fill in the form, and we don't keep the photo.
If you joined our email list before November 2026
Your email address, whether you told us you sell prints, where on the site you signed up, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address that we used to stop spam signups.
When you ask for help
What you write to us on the support page, any details you add (like which model it's about), and your email address so we can tell you when we reply.
When you browse
- Server logs: like nearly every website, our host records basic technical details such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
- Visit counts: our own counter records which pages are viewed, the site that sent you (like Google or Etsy), whether you're on a phone or a computer, and a random ID kept in your browser so a returning visitor counts once. It doesn't record your IP address, name or email.
- Analytics: Google Analytics records which pages you visit, roughly where you are (city or region), your device type and how you found us, using cookies. We use this only in summary form.
How we use it
- To run your account and give you your downloads.
- To answer your support requests and tell you when we reply.
- To send emails about your account and your orders.
- To send marketing emails to everyone with an account: the week's new designs every Friday and notes about the membership. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site secure and fair, for example limiting how many downloads or label reads an account can make in a day.
- To understand which pages and designs people find useful, so we can make better ones.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
Who helps us run the site
We use a few trusted services. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase: accounts, sign-in and the data in your account.
- Our web host: serves the website and stores our private records, such as the download log, older email sign-ups and support requests.
- Google: Gemini reads filament label photos; Google Analytics measures visits; Google Fonts supplies the site's fonts, which means your browser asks Google's servers for them.
- Loops: sends our emails, like support replies and the Friday email.
- Stripe and Link: run checkout and the membership's billing. Your card details go straight to them and never reach us; they tell us what you bought, your email address and your country, and keep their own records under Link's privacy policy.
- jsDelivr: delivers a piece of code the sign-in pages need.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale of the business (in which case this policy would still apply to your information).
Cookies and browser storage
When you sign in, your browser stores a sign-in key so you stay signed in. The site also remembers small preferences, such as whether you view your filament as cards or a list. These are needed for the site to work.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies to count visits, and our visit counter keeps a random ID in your browser. You can block or clear both in your browser's settings, and the site still works.
How long we keep it
- Account information, downloads and tracker data: while your account is open. Ask us to delete your account and we'll delete it.
- Purchases: as long as the law requires us to keep sales records, even after an account is deleted.
- Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe.
- Support requests: as long as we need them to help you and keep a record of what we did.
- Server logs and analytics: for limited periods set by our host and Google Analytics. Our own visit counts: up to two years.
Your choices
- See or fix your details: most are on your account page. For anything else, ask us.
- Delete your account: ask us on the support page and we'll delete your account and its data.
- Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Analytics: block or clear cookies and site data in your browser, or use Google's opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.
Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or some US states, you may have further rights, such as getting a copy of your data. Ask us on the support page and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, tell us and we'll delete it.
Security
The whole site uses HTTPS. Account data is protected so each person can only reach their own, our private records are kept off the public web, and where we log activity we use coded IDs instead of names. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Our services are based in the United States, so your information is processed there.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For big changes, we'll say so on the site or by email.
