Terms of Service

The rules for using 3mflabs.com and our files. Please read them: by using the site, you agree to them.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and 3MF Labs ("we", "us"), a sole proprietorship based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. They cover 3mflabs.com, your account, and the files you download. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, and our License explains what you can do with our files. Both are part of these terms.

Your account

  • You need to be at least 13 to create an account. If you're under 18, have a parent or guardian read these terms with you.
  • Give us a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • One person per account. Don't create accounts to get around download limits.

Files and the license

When you download a file, we give you a license to use it. We don't sell you the design itself. The License is the full set of rules. In short:

  • You may print our designs and sell the physical prints you make, with no royalty and no limit.
  • You may not share, upload, sell or give away the files, including changed versions.

If you break the license, your permission to use the files ends, and we may close your account.

Some designs may be free with an account; most are sold one at a time, in collection bundles, or through the membership. The price and what you get are shown before you pay.

  • Prices and tax: prices are in US dollars. Checkout may show them in your currency, and any sales tax or VAT for where you live is added there.
  • Who you pay: our checkout is run by Stripe. Your order is sold through Link, Stripe's checkout service, which acts as the reseller: it takes the payment, collects and pays any tax, emails your receipt and answers payment questions. Link's own terms apply to the payment; these terms apply to the files and the license.
  • Delivery: a design you buy is in your account as soon as the payment goes through, to download any time. A bundle includes every design in its collection.
  • Refunds: because files are delivered right away, purchases are final, unless a file is faulty and we can't fix it, or the law gives you a right to a refund. Link may also refund a payment where its rules or the law call for it. A refunded design leaves your account.

The membership

  • The membership is billed monthly or yearly, in advance, until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your downloads page or at link.com; it then runs to the end of the period you paid for and stops.
  • While you're a member you can download every design we release, plus the collection that was newest when you joined. Yearly members can download every design we sell. Members get a discount on other designs, shown at checkout.
  • Every design you download as a member stays yours after the membership ends, under the same license as a purchase.
  • If we change the price, we'll tell you before it applies to your plan, and you can cancel before then.

Using the site

Please don't:

  • copy, scrape or bulk-download the site or its files with automated tools;
  • get around download limits, security or sign-in;
  • upload anything unlawful, harmful or that you don't have the right to share;
  • use the site to harass anyone or to send spam.

Your content

Things you add to the site, like your profile picture, filament notes and support messages, stay yours. You let us store and show them as needed to run the site for you.

Our content

The designs, files, photos, text and the 3MF Labs name and logo belong to us. Apart from what the License allows, please don't use them. That includes our product photos: use photos of your own prints in your listings.

Printing and selling

  • How a print turns out depends on your printer, filament and settings. We describe how we print each design, but we can't promise the same result on every machine.
  • If you sell prints, you're responsible for what you sell: its quality and safety, how you describe it, and following any rules that apply to it, such as rules for toys, jewelry or items that touch food.
  • Some prints have small parts. Keep them away from young children.

No warranties

We work hard on our files and the site, but we provide them "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't make other promises, such as that the site will always be available or that a file will suit a particular purpose.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, failed prints, wasted filament or damage to your printer. Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50.

If you sell prints of our designs and someone makes a claim against us because of your products or how you sold them, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.

Ending your account

You can stop using the site at any time, and ask us to delete your account on the support page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the License. The parts of these terms that make sense to keep, such as the license limits on files and the limits of liability, continue after an account ends.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Cumberland County, North Carolina, unless the law where you live says otherwise. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.

If you believe something on our site uses your work without permission, tell us on the support page. Include what the work is, where it appears on our site, and how to reach you, and we'll look into it promptly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for big changes we'll say so on the site or by email. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.
