A 3D-printed grey stone castle dice tower on a walnut game table: a square brick keep with battlements, small pointed windows and a tall pointed doorway opening into a walled courtyard tray holding a twenty-sided die and two six-sided dice, with a candle, a leather notebook and more dice behind it.

01About

A square stone keep with brickwork on every face, battlements and small pointed windows around the top, an arrow slit on each side and a tall pointed doorway at the bottom. Drop dice into the open top: three hidden ramps inside tumble them, and they roll out of the doorway into the walled courtyard in front.

It is 95 mm wide, 156 mm deep and 166 mm tall, with the courtyard reaching 80 mm out from the tower. Everyday dice roll through easily: a 20 mm twenty-sided die or a 16 mm cube. Dice up to 25 mm across, or 22 mm cubes, fit one at a time.

The tower, ramps and tray print together in one piece, upright, with no supports, no glue and nothing to put together. It is one color: stone grey looks the part, and no AMS is needed. It fits a 256 x 256 mm plate.

It comes as a Bambu Studio project for a P2S and as STL. The license lets you sell the towers you make.

  1. Open the 3MF in Bambu Studio

Open it as a project (File, then Open Project). The printer, plate and settings are already saved, so there's nothing to set up. Printing on another brand? Use the STL files with the settings below.

  2. Load your filament

    One color:

    • CastleStone grey
  3. Print

Print the castle upright on its flat base at 100% scale. It comes off the plate in one piece, ready to roll.

Keep the scale at 100%: shrinking it narrows the dice passage. The ramps inside have built-in braces and short bridges, so no supports are needed. If the base lifts while printing, clean the plate and add an outer brim.

Printing on another printer or slicer? See the settings

The 3MF project has these settings saved for a Bambu Lab P2S. Using the STL on another printer? These are the settings it was made with.

03What to print

1 tower. One tower per file:

PartHow manyColor
The tower, ramps and courtyard in one piece01-Castle-Dice-Tower1×Stone grey

About 7 h 43 min and 216 g of PLA. Pick one format, the 3MF or the STL, not both.

04Using it

  1. Let it cool

Let the plate and the print cool fully before lifting the broad base off.

  2. Clear the strings

Look into the open top and the doorway and gently pull out any loose strings.

  3. Roll

Set the castle on a level table and drop dice into the top one at a time. Let each one land in the courtyard before adding the next.

If a die catches, stop adding dice and gently tip the tower to free it; don't push tools into the shaft. Oversized novelty dice may jam. Thin felt in the courtyard quiets the roll; keep it clear of the doorway. Keep PLA away from heat, and keep dice and small pieces away from young children and pets.
