01About
A carriage-style lantern, about 30 cm tall with the handle up, with four Halloween scenes that glow when a battery LED light is inside: a haunted manor, moonlit bats, a spiderweb and a ghost woodland. Each panel is a single print: a thin light-colored backing that lets the light through, with raised black artwork on top.
The panels slide down grooves in the frame, so you can swap scenes or mix them. The roof slides on and locks with a press-and-slide latch, with no screws, clips or glue, and the round carry handle prints already attached to the roof.
Every part comes as a Bambu Studio project set up for a P2S with an AMS, and as STL files for any other slicer. The license lets you sell the prints you make.
- Four swappable scenes: Haunted Manor, Moonlit Bats, Spiderweb and Ghost Woodland
- Panels glow: a light backing and black artwork in one print, no diffuser sheets
- Slide-lock roof: no screws, clips or glue
- Carry handle prints in place, already attached
- About 136 × 141 × 296 mm with the handle up
- Sell the prints you make
02How to print
Open the 3MF in Bambu Studio
Open it as a project (File, then Open Project). The printer, plate and settings are already saved, so there's nothing to set up. Printing on another brand? Use the STL files with the settings below.
Load your filament
You need two colors:
- Frame, roof and panel artworkBlack
- Panel backingWhite, or any color that lets light through
Print
Print everything on the list below, then put it together.
Printing the panels from the STL? Start with the backing color and add a filament change after layer 3 (Z = 0.60 mm), before the first black layer at 0.80 mm. The all-four STL needs only one change. A panel printed in one opaque color won't glow. Keep the scale at 100%: scaling changes the hinge, the panel grooves and the lock.
Printing on another printer or slicer? See the settings
The 3MF projects have all of this saved for a Bambu Lab P2S. Using the STLs on another printer? These are the settings they were made with.
- Printer
- Bambu Lab P2S, 0.4 mm nozzle, textured PEI plate
- Material
- PLA
- Layer height
- 0.20 mm, first layer 0.20 mm
- Walls
- Frame and roof 4, panels 3
- Infill
- Frame and roof 25%, panels 15% gyroid
- Supports
- Frame and roof on (normal, 25° threshold); panels off
- First layer
- 20 mm/s walls, 30 mm/s infill
- Orientation
- As supplied: the handle prints upright, already in the roof hinge; panels lie flat, backing down
03What to print
3 prints. One lantern:
| Part | How many | Color |
|---|---|---|
| Lantern frame01_Lantern_Frame | 1× | Black |
| Roof with the carry handle02_Lantern_Roof_and_Captive_Handle | 1× | Black |
| All four panels03_Panels_All_Four | 1 plate | White and black |
Want a different background color behind each scene? Print 04_Panel_Haunted_Manor, 05_Panel_Moonlit_Bats, 06_Panel_Spiderweb and 07_Panel_Ghost_Woodland one at a time instead of the all-four plate. Use the 3MF projects or the STLs, not both.
04Putting it together
Print the parts
Print the frame and the roof once each, then either the all-four panel plate or the four single panels. Keep the supplied orientations, and don't split or rearrange the roof and handle: they print together, already joined.
Clean them up
Let everything cool. Remove the supports from the frame channels, the roof hooks, the release tab and around the handle, then clear any strings.
Free the handle
Support the hinge ears and gently rock the handle until it swings. It's already attached, so there's no axle or clip to fit. Don't force a stuck joint.
Add the panels and a light
Slide the four panels down the frame grooves with the raised artwork facing out, and put a battery-powered LED light inside. LED only, never a candle.
Lock the roof
Face the frame's latch pocket and the roof's thumb pad toward you. Set the roof on the rails about 12 mm right of center, press the thumb pad down, slide the roof left to center and let go. Check that all four hooks are engaged.
To open it, press the thumb pad down, slide the roof 12 mm right and lift. This is a decorative indoor lantern for battery LED lights: no candles, flames or hot bulbs. Support the base when you carry it.
05Selling your prints
Every download comes with a license that lets you sell the physical prints you make. The full terms are in LICENSE.txt inside the ZIP.
You can
- Print it for yourself, family and friends, and as gifts
- Sell physical prints, with no quantity limit or royalty
- Change the files for your own printing, and sell prints of those too
- Use your own photos of your prints to sell them
You can't
- Share, upload, sell or give away the files, or remixes of them
- Pass the files on with a print you sell
- Claim the design as yours, or imply 3MF Labs endorses your shop
