01About

A gift that is part of the fun. It looks like a small wrapped present, red with an ivory ribbon cross and a puffy bow, but the lid will not budge until you find the secret.

Three moves open it, in order: slide the front ribbon down, slide the bow forward, then slide the whole lid out. Nothing on the outside gives the locks away. Share the trick or let the recipient work it out.

The box is 110 x 80 x 50 mm, about 65 mm tall to the top of the bow. Inside there is at least 92 x 60 x 22 mm of space: a standard gift card lies flat with folded bills or a note on top, and a finger well helps lift it out.

Eight pieces print in two colors, one color per plate, so no AMS is needed, and they slide together by hand: no glue, screws or magnets. An all-parts layout prints the whole box in one color. The 3MF projects are set up for a Bambu Lab P2S, and the STLs print on any printer. The license lets you sell the boxes you make.

  1. Open the 3MF in Bambu Studio

    Open it as a project (File, then Open Project). The printer, plate and settings are already saved, so there's nothing to set up. Printing on another brand? Use the STL files with the settings below.

  2. Load your filament

    You need two colors:

    • Box and lidRed
    • Ribbons and bowIvory

  3. Print

    Print everything on the list below, then put it together.

Each plate uses one filament, so no AMS is needed. Using the STLs, turn supports on for the bow piece only. Keep the scale at 100%: the slides are sized for it.

04Putting it together

  1. Clean the pieces

    Remove the supports from under the bow gently by hand, and check its small runners and tooth are clean.

  2. Slide it together

    Slide the wall ribbons into the box and the cross ribbon into the lid, fit the bow onto the lid, then slide the lid in. START_HERE.txt walks through each step.

  3. Hide the gift

    Lay a gift card or folded cash in the box, close it, and let them find the three secret moves.

The full notes, including the opening secret and troubleshooting, are in START_HERE.txt inside the download. Keep PLA away from heat; small pieces are not suitable for children under three.
