01About

Letters to Santa need somewhere to go. This chubby red mailbox stands on a candy-striped post and a soft snow mound, with NORTH POLE MAIL in white bubble letters on its side, a raised heart on its door and a gold flag with a star. Three white envelopes with red hearts fit inside. Your elf doll is not included.

The door prints already on its hinge. Put a finger under the tab on top and pull down, and the door opens and rests level. Swing it back up and press near the tab until it clicks shut. The flag clips on and swings down toward the door, and the box presses onto its post with two hidden catches, so it all goes together by hand with no glue, screws or tools.

It stands about 132 mm tall on a base about 97 mm across, a good size next to a 10-12 inch (25-30 cm) elf doll.

It comes as four Bambu Studio projects for a P2S and as STLs for any printer. The mailbox, the post and the envelopes need an AMS for color; any piece prints in one color too. Print the mailbox in regular PLA, since the door catch can snap in silk. The license lets you sell the mailboxes you print.

  1. Open the 3MF in Bambu Studio

    Open it as a project (File, then Open Project). The printer, plate and settings are already saved, so there's nothing to set up. Printing on another brand? Use the STL files with the settings below.

  2. Load your filament

    You need three colors:

    • Mailbox, door, post stripes, envelope heartsRed
    • Lettering, snow base, post stripes, envelopesWhite
    • FlagGold

  3. Print

    Print everything on the list below, then put it together.

The mailbox, the post and the envelopes change color within the print, so they need an AMS, or print their STLs in one color: mailbox about 4 h 59 min and 156 g, post and base about 1 h 26 min and 43 g, envelopes about 28 min and 11 g. Keep every piece at 100% scale so the door catch, the post catches and the flag clip still fit.

Each print comes as a 3MF project and as an STL: use one or the other, not both.

04Putting it together

  1. Print the pieces

    Print the mailbox, the post and base, the flag and the envelopes as supplied. Use regular PLA for the mailbox and let each plate cool fully before you touch it.

  2. Free the door

    Peel away the mailbox supports by hand, including the one under the tab and hook. Gently work the door on its hinge. To open, put a finger under the tab and pull down. To close, swing it up and press near the tab until it clicks.

  3. Put it together

    Press the box straight down onto the post until both catches engage, then clip the flag sideways onto its red shaft. Swing the flag toward the door to lower it.

  4. Deliver the mail

    Stack the envelopes inside and set the mailbox on a level surface next to your elf doll.

05Selling your prints

Every download comes with a license that lets you sell the physical prints you make. The full terms are in LICENSE.txt inside the ZIP.
