01About

A small red present with a white ribbon and a chunky bow, made to give a gift card. Lift the lid and the card lies flat in its own pocket, with a rounded finger well to lift it out. There is room above it for a thin folded note.

It is 102 x 74 mm and 35 mm tall with the bow. The pocket fits a standard 85.6 x 54 mm gift card.

Three parts: the box, the lid and the bow. The lid clips onto the hinge pins molded on the box by hand, opens to just past a right angle and closes with a light press on a rounded front catch. The bow presses into two blind sockets on the lid. No glue, screws or loose pins.

The 3MF projects are set up for a Bambu Lab P2S. The red-and-white ribbon needs an AMS; the STLs print in one color with no AMS. No supports. The license lets you sell the boxes you make.

  1. Open the 3MF in Bambu Studio

    Open it as a project (File, then Open Project). The printer, plate and settings are already saved, so there's nothing to set up. Printing on another brand? Use the STL files with the settings below.

  2. Load your filament

    You need two colors:

    • Box and lidRed
    • Ribbon and bowWhite

  3. Print

    Print everything on the list below, then put it together.

The box and lid change color within layers for the ribbon, so the color 3MFs need an AMS: keep their prime towers. The bow is all white. Without an AMS, print the STLs in one color. Keep the scale at 100%, or the hinge clips and the bow won't fit.

03What to print

3 parts. One gift card box:

Each part comes as a 3MF project and as an STL: use one or the other, not both.

04Putting it together

  1. Print the three parts

    Print the box, the lid and the bow as supplied, with no supports. Let them cool and remove any loose strings.

  2. Clip the lid on

    Hold the lid over the box in its closed position, bow sockets up, and line its two C-shaped clips up with the two pins between the box's three rear knuckles. Support the back of the box and press the lid's rear edge straight down near the clips until both snap on.

  3. Press in the bow

    Turn the bow so its tails point to the front catch, line its two pegs up with the two holes in the lid's top and press evenly near the pegs until it seats. Press the foot, never the loops. No glue.

  4. Add the gift card

    Lay the card face up in its pocket and close the lid with a light press at the front until the catch holds.

The full notes, including fit tips, are in START_HERE.txt inside the download. Open the lid gently to its stop and don't force it farther. PLA can soften in a hot car. Not a toy for small children.
