01About

Lift the back of your laptop for more comfortable typing and better airflow. Put one stand under each side: the front rests on the desk behind a small rounded lip, and a fold-out leg holds the back up, so the keyboard tilts about 14 degrees with the back about 63 mm up. Low rounded ridges along the top keep the laptop steady without rubber pads.

When you are done, the leg swings back into a recess in the underside and each stand becomes one flat bar, 220 x 28 mm and 12 mm thick, easy to slip into a bag.

Each stand prints in one piece with its leg already attached on a print-in-place hinge, flat as it folds and with no supports. A firm stop takes the laptop's weight when the leg is open, and a small bump holds it open or folded. No pins, screws or glue.

One color, no AMS needed. The 3MF projects are set up for a Bambu Lab P2S, and the STLs print on any printer. Use the two stands together for a laptop up to about 3 kg. The license lets you sell the stands you make.

  1. Open the 3MF in Bambu Studio

Open it as a project (File, then Open Project). The printer, plate and settings are already saved, so there's nothing to set up. Printing on another brand? Use the STL files with the settings below.

  2. Load your filament

    One color:

    • StandCharcoal grey
  3. Print

Print it flat as supplied, with no supports: each leg prints already attached.

Print the leg and bar together exactly as supplied: do not split, separate or auto-arrange them. Keep the scale at 100%, or the hinge clearances change. Times are for the pair plate (one stand: about 2 h 41 min, 44 g).

Printing on another printer or slicer? See the settings

The 3MF projects have these settings saved for a Bambu Lab P2S. Using the STLs on another printer? These are the settings they were made with.

03What to print

2 layouts. Two stands: Laptop-Stand-Single twice, or Laptop-Stand-Pair once:

PartHow manyColor
One complete stand with its leg attached: print it twiceLaptop-Stand-Single1×Charcoal grey
Both stands on one plate: print it onceLaptop-Stand-Pair1×Charcoal grey

Each layout comes as a 3MF project and as an STL: use one or the other, not both.

04Getting it ready

  1. Free the hinge

Let the prints cool fully. Hold each bar near its hinge and gently flex and rock the leg a little at a time until it swings freely. Don't pry it with tools.

  2. Open the legs

Swing each leg down and back until it meets its firm stop. A little resistance from the small holding bump is normal.

  3. Set up your laptop

Put one stand under each side of the laptop, front lips lined up, and rest the laptop on the ridges with its front edge behind both lips. Keep the air vents clear.

  4. Fold for travel

Lift the laptop off, then swing each leg back into the recess underneath until it sits flush.

The full notes, including fit and safety tips, are in START_HERE.txt inside the download. Never fold a stand with the laptop on it. Keep PLA away from hot cars, heaters and hot exhaust vents.
